Resolution/ET Problem

He,

after returning officially today and doing fine, i tried to start the game again.

The grafx looked really bad... so i exec my cfg with custom resolution and did vid_restart.
Seems like some weird shit but my screen asked for the right cable.

I persume the resolution the game tried to apply was not supported with my screen....

I checked cfg-> fine 1920x1080
Checked win7 -> 1920x1080

tried other resolutions (always vid_restart). Seems like the game doesnt change them. kinda weird. ended up several times with black screen.
Had to reset pc (I never saw the screen where the game asks if resolution is ok and the countdown runs).

Tried r_mode 12345 and -1 via console

reinstalled et.

Same problem again.

Updated my grafx driver.

still... i spent 2h now. fed up. Any ideas?

Good that you are back.

Maybe i have the same problem.
After i change my whole config i have an awful grafic too.
I try to change the resulution in my config and in game but no improvment.
Now i press 2 times "alt" and "enter" to min and max et after that the grafx looks better.
I know that is not the solution in permanet.
Maybe that helps you for the moment.

So i need ideas too.

I solved it more or less. I DLed complete new version of the game and it worked. I will now have to rework my cfg as it seems its the root of evil...  

@Stefan: try vid_restart after you changed your Resolution or loaded your cfg. Just open console: "/vid_restart" and press return.

If that doesnt work we speak again.
