What are "CFG" files and where to find them?

Have a look in your "etmain" folder. You will find several files there with the file ending "cfg". Those are "configuration files" ET uses to store YOUR and the GAME'S settings.
You can open those files with "Editor" or "Wordpad" in Windows or "gedit" if you are a Linux user.

BINDS

Generally speaking there are two different kind of BINDS.
- Command binds which perform an action when you press a key. (Jumping for example)
- Chat binds which let you use the numerous "voicechat" sounds of ET and combine them with a custom text, if you want to.

CVARS - console variables

You can also use your CFG to save settings of the game by writing CVARS into the cfg file. This is useful for example before doing reinstalls of the game or using different settings for the different mods of ET.
There are numerous cvars and they are listed all over the Internet. One of the best and comprehensive sites available is antman's CVAR EXPLANATIONS:
